About the data
Every species record is compiled from official government sources only — the state
wildlife agency's published seasons, regulation digests, and license pages — then independently
re-checked against those same sources by a second pass before it appears here. Facts that could not be
confirmed on an official page are listed as gaps, never guessed. Each record shows the date it
was compiled and the date it was verified.
Statewide regulations only: wildlife management areas, refuges, and military lands set their own
season dates and rules — always check the area-specific regulations before hunting public land.
