• Whetstone collects nothing. We run no server of our own and set no cookies, run no analytics scripts, and have no accounts. Whatever you type, we never receive it.
• Calculators run entirely in your browser. The calculators (HitchMath, Heat Pump, Backup Power, Passport, Peak Surcharge, RV Winterization, Park Pass, Quarry) are static pages: the numbers you enter never leave your device.
• Data-lookup tools query public sources directly from your browser. The Company Background Check is a data tool: when you run a check, the business name you type is sent from your browser straight to official U.S. government sources — SEC EDGAR (data.sec.gov), USAspending.gov, and EPA ECHO — and a federal watchlist data file is downloaded into your browser to screen against. Those requests go directly to the government services, not through Whetstone, so we never see or store your searches. Each of those government services has its own privacy and logging practices, and a few requests carry a contact User-Agent (support@whetstonetools.com) as those services request. Don't enter anything you wouldn't put into a government search box.
• Hosting. The site is served by our hosting provider (Netlify), which — like any web host — processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) to deliver the site. See Netlify's privacy policy for details.
• Links to our own products. Some pages link to Whetstone's data tools on the Apify marketplace (the "Go deeper" links on the Company Background Check). Those are our own products on a third-party platform; opening one takes you to apify.com, which has its own privacy policy.
• Email updates (optional). The Quarry seasons page has an optional sign-up form for regulation-update notices. This is the one exception to "we collect nothing," and it only happens if you choose to submit the form: the email address you enter (and the state you pick, if any) is sent to and stored by Netlify Forms, our hosting provider's form service, so we can email you when that state's hunting regulations data is updated. That is everything the form collects. It is used only for those update emails — never sold or shared — and you can unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email or by writing support@whetstonetools.com. If you never submit the form, nothing is collected.
• Advertising & affiliate links. We currently run no ads and no affiliate links. If any tool ever adds them, this page and that tool's page will say so plainly first — including what those third parties collect — and any affiliate link will be marked as such.
